In 2014 the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam (Amsterdam Canal Festival) will celebrate its 17th year of running. Every year this event draws thousands of visitors from all over The Netherlands and the rest of the world. You’ll find a great selection of special locations, productions and programmes.

The Grachtenfestival also offers a stage for young talented musicians, to give them the opportunity to take the next step forward in their musical careers.

Out of the big selection of events the most popular is normally the Prinsengracht Concert, a spectacular classical concert in the city centre, held at the end of the festival.

In 2013 the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra took to the stage in their jubilee year to perform a specially designed programme.
